Job Description

Prepares, audits, and reconciles group insurance records for life, medical, disability, vision, workers compensation and similar employee benefit programs. Communicates and explains to employees information related to a variety of benefits programs (e.g., insurance plans, pensions, stock/thrift incentive plans, sick leave). Assists employees in completion of forms and provides general response to benefit inquiries. Prepares reports and statistical information regarding programs. May calculate benefits due and issues drafts for payments on self-administered or insured plans. Prepares communication to physicians, hospitals, and employees regarding claims.

At NNS, this postion prepares, audits and reconciles disability and military leave requests. Communicates and explains to employees information related to disability and military benefit programs (e.g., salaried and hourly disability plans, FMLA, Family Care, Military Mobilizations). Assists employees in completion of forms and provides general response to benefit inquiries. Prepares reports and statistical information regarding programs. Accurately enters time in time system. Reviews disabiity benefit issues for resolution. Prepares communication to management and employees regarding leave policies. Provides training/mentorship for less senior leave administrators.

Basic Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or experience

Preferred Qualifications

Extensive eperience with various disability benefits programs, such as short-term and long-term disability, military leave and workers' compensation. Extensive experience with leave requlations such as Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployement Righrs Act (USERRA) and various paid family leave regulations.Experience in administration in an industrial enviroment preferred.
