The Commerce and Revenue Services team, under Cloud + Ecosystems, delivers core services at scale that power large scale commerce across Microsoft. Our mission is to provide the richest commerce capabilities that enables growth for Microsoft through business model innovations. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in our work to accelerate the pace of our innovation, improve the resiliency and scalability of the invoicing system. Invoicing is a key component that is both customer facing and financial impacting to the company.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a strong technical contributor who can empower the team to deliver scalable architecture, design systems with the right abstractions to enable agile and fast delivery of new requirements, establish and ensure solutions meet the teams OKRs and delight our customers, and collaborate with Engineering Leads across CFS to redesign parts of the system to improve efficiency and resiliency.
Qualifications
6+ years software engineering experience
3+ years building, supporting, and growing distributed software systems
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience
Strong ability to identify and address systemic inefficiencies and points of risk
Strong communication skills
Ability to self-start and drive to success on critical projects with tight timelines
Ability to participate in or drive complex projects across multiple teams
Ability to break down complex problems into component pieces
A desire to mentor and grow peers
Experience with Microsoft Technologies (Azure, C#, .NET, SQL)
