Manufacturing Engineer, Spinform (Raptor)

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER, SPINFORM (RAPTOR)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work directly with production team to deliver on-time product while meeting labor, cost, and quality targets

  • Identify and eliminate process waste, streamline production process and enable continuous improvement

  • Define product flow and work cell layout

  • In the event of nonconformance or failure, develop fast, reliable, and flexible work procedures to repair or replace discrepant components without impacting schedule

  • Implement design changes to production hardware, rapidly developing and qualifying new processes as needed

  • Drive design for manufacturability during improvement and new-product design cycles

  • Identify, plan, and execute capital equipment upgrades to the production line

  • Perform DOEs on production processes to improve quality, capacity, and safety

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or materials engineering

  • 3+ years of experience in the manufacturing field (internships and student projects qualify)

  • 1+ years of experience with mechanical components or tooling design, analysis, and GD&T

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with metallic forming, heat treatment, and material testing

  • Experience with large format metallic machining and tool design

  • Experience with non-destructive and coordinate-based inspection methods (NDE and CMM)

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, Kanban and/or process improvement

  • Experience with factory floor and workstation layout

  • Experience with return on investment (ROI) analysis and capital expenditure justification

  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This is a hands-on position that will require standing for long durations of your day and working directly with hardware on the floor

  • Must be comfortable stooping, bending, and standing

  • Position may require occasional travel, long hours or weekend work
