SPACE SUIT PATTERN MAKER
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop patterns for space suit layers, working with engineering and production teams to achieve optimal fit for crewmembers
Develop patterns for crew equipment used on Crew Dragon (storage bags, emergency supplies, etc.)
Walk patterns and provide feedback for necessary revisions
Conduct fittings to assess suit fit
Make pattern alterations as necessary based on fit and design team feedback, working to project schedules
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of pattern making experience; both hand drafting and with at least one pattern-making software package (Gerber, Lectra, Tuka CAD, Optitex)
Experience patterning across multiple of the following: body suits, gloves, footwear
Experience grading base patterns
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of pattern making experience
Demonstrated experience working to product schedules and self-managing tasks for on-time completion
Experience patterning for technical fabrics (adhesive coated, aramids, stretch)
Experience with Siemens NX / Teamcenter or other 2D/3D parametric CAD and PLM software
Experience working to mil spec or other government standards
Hands-on sewing experience for worn garments
