Very few products or software services have had an impact in the Productivity space or have created a larger active user base than Exchange. Beyond being Microsoft 365’s messaging backbone, Exchange is a service that powers many of the Cloud services and experiences we are able to offer our customers. Many areas of growth across the Microsoft 365 product portfolio could benefit from capabilities anchored in Exchange, whether revenue-oriented, usage-oriented As we continue to evolve the Exchange service, we are looking for a Senior Product Marketer to lead it within the Microsoft 365 Business Group and help chart the course for growth. The remit of this role includes both the Exchange Online service and the Exchange family of servers (i.e. Exchange on-premises).
Responsibilities
Design for growth by partnering with the Engineering and Business Planning teams in identifying net-new opportunities to drive both revenue and usage growth. As a product marketer this accountability is about being the “chief growth officer” for the Exchange family of products by utilizing customer feedback, usage data and competitive analysis to nurture existing growth initiatives and kick-off new ones. Own the Exchange marketing plan across all channels and segments. Your accountability will include developing the marketing themes and content to continue and land the value of Exchange Online. This will require partnerships with other product marketing teams to incorporate the value of Exchange Online in their marketing plans, and to drive the engagement with our existing customer base through digital marketing, customer events, and more. Be a product advocate to help evangelize Exchange Online with customers through direct customer interactions and by empowering our customer community with a focus on the IT audience. You will design and execute the plan to guide them through the Exchange roadmap, future service options, changes to the service they would need to plan for and the training resources available to them. In this role you will be expected to generate high-impact ideas, engage and influence stakeholders across engineering, marketing and business-planning disciplines while driving initiatives to completion. This role is part of the Outlook and Exchange PMM team and may include accountabilities that go beyond Exchange based on opportunities for business growth and Exchange’s integration with so many Microsoft product and services.
Qualifications
This position requires 5+ years in product marketing, product management or program management. An ability to ramp-up on technical topics in an effective manner and be able to participate in and lead discussions with engineering stakeholders is key. In addition, candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellent oral and written communications abilities, strong analytical and interpersonal skills - including the ability to interact with senior engineering and marketing leaders.
